About the Artist…Jim Jemming is a Nebraska native and 1977 Cedar Rapids Jefferson graduate who also attended LaSalle High School and was a member of the Emerald Knights Drum Corps. He has been honing his artistic skills for decades. His first work began as sketches and paintings throughout his school years and later more painting & caricatures to support his real passion for fine painting. Today he is living with his wife, Paula, in Colorado painting such inspired paintings full of light that comes from a place most of us only can dream… James puts those dreams on canvas so we can better experience and enjoy them.
In 2010 James was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer. They have no medical insurance and have been struggling to make ends meet while the bills continue to pile up. A doctor sensitive to their situation agreed to perform a life-saving surgery for a deposit. On December 8th James had the cancerous tumors removed, but still has a long road to travel. His life has drastically changed and he still has to undergo two intensive rounds of chemotherapy, one combined with radiation.
Please share this very important event with all the people you know that may know James — even those who don’t!
Let’s come together and make life a little more bearable by painting a brighter future for a friend in need.
